This Privacy Policy describes how Coach Roger ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Coach Roger web app, iOS app, Android app, or website at https://coachroger.app(collectively, the "Service"). Coach Roger is operated from 714 Green St, Floor 2, Rockford, IL 61102, USA.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email, display name, optional avatar, and (if you sign in with Google or Apple) your provider-supplied profile details.

Wellness content you choose to log

Mood check-ins, journal entries, meals (including photos you choose to upload), workouts, water logs, and notes you share with Coach Roger. This content is private to your account.

Subscription & payment

We use Stripe for billing. We do not store full payment card numbers. We retain a Stripe customer ID, plan name, status, and renewal date.

Device & usage

Basic technical telemetry — device type, app version, crash reports, and feature usage — to keep the Service stable. Push notification tokens are stored to deliver reminders you opt into.

Affiliate program

If you join our Affiliate Program, we collect the details you submit — your name, mailing address, mobile number, and PayPal email — together with a record of the customers attributed to your referral link and the payouts we make to you. We use this solely to operate the program and pay your commissions.

Referral attribution

If you sign up through an affiliate's referral link, we record which affiliate referred you so we can attribute and pay their commission. We do not reveal your identity or personal details to that affiliate — they see only anonymized referral counts and subscription status (for example, "1 annual member, active").

If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we store your email address (and the page you subscribed from) to send you wellness tips and product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email or by emailing support@coachroger.app.

2. How we use your information

Operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Personalize coaching, reminders, and recommendations.
Send transactional notifications you've enabled (receipts, reminders, account updates).
Send newsletter emails if you've opted in (unsubscribe anytime).
Run the Affiliate Program and pay commissions where applicable.
Detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.

3. AI processing (Coach Roger)

Your text conversations with Coach Roger are processed by a third-party large-language-model provider (Google Gemini) solely to generate responses. Spoken replies use either your browser's built-in voice or, for Premium members, a third-party voice provider (ElevenLabs) that converts Roger's text reply into audio. We do not sell your conversations to advertisers and do not use them to train external models.

Coach Roger's memory

To make Coach Roger feel like a companion who remembers you, the app may save short, durable notes about things you share (for example, an ongoing life situation or a goal) and use them to personalize future conversations. You can view and delete everything Roger remembers at any time in the app under Profile → What Roger Remembers, and these notes are deleted when you delete your account. They are private to your account and are not shared.

4. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that make the app work: our database and storage provider, Stripe for billing, Google Gemini for AI responses, ElevenLabs for Premium spoken-voice replies, push notification gateways, and our email provider. Each is contractually bound to use your data only to provide their service. We never sell personal information.

4a. Cookies & tracking

We use two kinds of cookies and similar technologies:

Essential cookies keep you signed in, keep your session secure, and remember basic preferences (like your language). The app can't function without these, so they're always on.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
Advertising cookies (the Meta pixel) let us measure whether our ads are working — for example, whether someone who saw an ad went on to sign up. This involves sharing limited information about your visit with Meta, which may use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Google Tag Manager is the tool we use to manage the tags above and any we add later. It is treated exactly like them: it loads on the same terms, and never when you've chosen "Essential only."

When the non-essential ones load depends on where you are. If you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, none of them load unless you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner — if you do nothing, or choose "Essential only," nothing about your visit reaches Google or Meta. Everywhere else, they start when you arrive and the banner offers "Essential only," which stops them immediately and is remembered for future visits. Either way, essential cookies are the only ones you can't turn off, because the app cannot keep you signed in without them.

We never sell your personal information. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser (the banner will appear again), and you can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. California residents: while advertising cookies are on, we share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as the CCPA defines it — choosing "Essential only" in the banner is how you opt out, and it takes effect immediately.

5. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from Profile → Privacy & data or by emailing support@coachroger.app. California residents may exercise rights under CCPA/CPRA; EU/UK residents have rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority).

6. Children

Coach Roger is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

7. Health disclaimer

Coach Roger provides general wellness support, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. In an emergency call 911 (US) or your local emergency number; for mental-health crisis support in the US, call or text 988.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted by role-based controls and audit-logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting you occurs, we will notify you as required by law.

9. International transfers

Our systems are hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US.

10. Retention

We retain account and wellness data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After deletion, residual copies may remain in backups for up to 90 days before being purged.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use means you accept the revised policy.
